App: Sanctuary (ShabbatLuxury) for iPhone

Sanctuary shows Shabbat candle-lighting and Havdalah times for your location. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking. The developer does not operate any servers and does not collect or store your personal data.
With your permission, the app uses your iPhone's location to calculate times for where you are and to show the direction of Jerusalem (compass). You can instead choose a city or ZIP code manually. You can change the location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
To show the name of your city, the app sends your coordinates to Apple's geocoding service. When you choose a city manually, the text you type is also converted to coordinates using this service. Apple's geocoding is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
To obtain Shabbat and zmanim times, the app sends your location coordinates and time zone to the public Hebcal API at hebcal.com. Your IP address is necessarily visible to Hebcal as part of this request. Hebcal states that it keeps server logs for a short period and does not sell personal data; see the Hebcal Privacy Policy. The app sends no name, email, device identifier or account information.
If the Hebcal service is unreachable, the app calculates approximate sunset-based times on the device.
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local reminders (for example 15 and 30 minutes before candle lighting) on your device. These are generated on the device; no push-notification server is used and no notification data leaves your phone.
Your settings (the reminder switches) are stored locally on your iPhone in the app's storage. A manually chosen city is kept only while the app is running. None of this is sent to the developer.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
